Taxonomy
Favoidioseris pecosensis was named by Wells (1933). It is not extant. Its type locality is Section 14, Block 122, which is in an Albian shallow subtidal limestone in the Denton Formation of Texas.

It was recombined as Ovalastrea pecosensis by Cairns (1991).
