Taxonomy
Aulacothyroides bulkutensis was named by Dagys (1965). Its type specimen is IGiG 331/118 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bulkut Creek, basin of middle part of Rossokh River (Carnian), which is in a Ladinian marine horizon in the Russian Federation.
