Polydiexodina was named by Dunbar and Skinner (1931) [Sepkoski's age data: P Leon-u P Guad-u]. Its type is Polydiexodina capitanensis.

It was assigned to Foraminiferida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Schwagerinidae by Kiessling (2003).
