Discotrochus duncani was named by Reuss (1871). It is not extant.

It was recombined as Cylindrophyllia duncani by Chevalier (1964); it was recombined as Truncatocyathus duncani by Stolarski (1992); it was recombined as Peponocyathus duncani by Cairns (1997).
