Taxonomy
Plaesiacomia was named by Hawle and Corda (1847) [Sepkoski's age data: O Llvi O Cara-u]. It is not extant. Its type is Plaesiacomia rara.

It was assigned to Trilobita by Gutiérrez-Marco and Babin (1999); to Phacopida by Sepkoski (2002); to Homalonotidae by Jell and Adrain (2002); and to Colpocoryphinae by Thomas (1977) and Congreve and Lieberman (2008).
