Taxonomy
Costalocrinus rex was named by McIntosh (1984). It is not extant. Its type specimen is USNM 305633 (whole specimen (width at radials)). Its type locality is Bay View Creek Wanakah Shale locality Dgn-4b, which is in a Givetian marine shale in the Ludlowville Formation of New York.
