Largocephalosaurus polycarpon
Taxonomy
Largocephalosaurus polycarpon was named by Cheng et al. (2012). Its type specimen is Wuhan Institute of Geology and Mineral Recourses (WIGM) SPC V 1009, a skeleton (a nearly complete and articulated skeleton (more than 113 cm in length), with most part of the tail missing), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Luoping area, upper member of Guanling Formation limestone (middle Anisian), which is in a Pelsonian marine limestone in the Guanling Formation of China. It is the type species of Largocephalosaurus.
