Taxonomy
Coenosopsites poinari was named by Michelsen (1996). Its type specimen is OSU Poinar D-7-46A, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Dominican amber (Poinar coll), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian terrestrial amber in the Dominican Republic. It is the type species of Coenosopsites.
