Protobombus (Protobombus) tristellus

Taxonomy
Protobombus tristellus was named by Cockerell (1909) [Neotype]. Its type specimen is MfN MB.I.1943, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic amber, Konigsberg collection, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in the Russian Federation.

It was recombined as Electrapis (Protobombus) tristellus by Cockerell (1909) and Zeuner and Manning (1976); it was recombined as Electrapis tristellus by Spahr (1987); it was recombined as Protobombus (Protobombus) tristellus by Engel (2021).
