Taxonomy
Upogebia miocenica was named by Garassino et al. (2009). Its type specimen is MGSB 74532, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Les Clotes, Vilafranca del Penedès, which is in a Langhian coastal claystone in Spain.
