Taxonomy
Gryllacris fasciata was named by Bode (1905). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Grassel, Braunschweig, which is in a Toarcian offshore mudstone in the Posidonia Shale Formation of Germany.
It was recombined as Geinitzia fasciata by Zeuner (1939) and Storozhenko (1998).
