Dichelepyge was named by Harrinton and Leanza (1952) [Sepkoski's age data: O Trem-l Sepkoski's reference number: 378]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Asaphida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Ceratopygidae by Harrington and Leanza (1957) and Jell and Adrain (2002).
