Praebulimina was named by Hofker (1953) [Sepkoski's age data: J Bath K Maes-u]. It was considered unknown by Loeblich and Tappan (1987).

It was assigned to Turrilinidae by Loeblich and Tappan (1987); and to Foraminiferida by Sepkoski (2002).
