Taxonomy
Polycentropus barbatus was named by Pictet and Hagen (1856). It is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber, Berendt collection, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in Poland.
It was considered a nomen nudum by Pictet (1854); it was recombined as Plectrocnemia barbata by Ulmer (1912).
