Kalops monophrys

Taxonomy
Kalops monophrys was named by Poplin and Lund (2002) [Unpublished PhD thesis]. Its type specimen is CM 27372 A, B, a skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bear Gulch (Carnegie Museum Collection), which is in an Arnsbergian open shallow subtidal limestone in the Heath Formation of Montana. It is the type species of Kalops, Acontoniscus.

It was recombined as Acontoniscus cracens by Lowney (1980).
