Taxonomy
Baianochorista mongolica was named by Novokshonov (1997). Its type specimen is PIN 4023/699, a wing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Bayan Teg Coal Quarry (PIN collection 4023), which is in a Bajocian/Bathonian pond claystone in Mongolia. It is the type species of Baianochorista.
