Iveria was named by Shergold (1980) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Fran-u Sepkoski's reference number: 16]. It is not extant. Its type is Iveria iverensis.

It was assigned to Trilobita by Sepkoski (2002); and to Eulomidae by Jell and Adrain (2002).
