Taxonomy
Eomunidopsis portlandica was named by Fraaye and Collins (1996). Its type specimen is MAB K.1695, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is ARC Broadcraft Quarry, Roach blocks, which is in a Tithonian perireef or subreef packstone in the Purbeck Limestone Formation of the United Kingdom.
