Taxonomy
Omma gobiense was named by Ponomarenko (1997). Its type specimen is PIN 3688/1173, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Khoutiyn-Khotgor (PIN collection 3688), which is in a Tithonian lacustrine shale in the Ulaan-Ereg Formation of Mongolia.
