Taxonomy
Agelaia electra was named by Carpenter and Grimaldi (1997). Its type specimen is AMNH-DR- 14-1040, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Dominican amber (AMNH coll), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian terrestrial amber in the Dominican Republic.
