Taxonomy
Proplebeia vetusta was named by Camargo et al. (2000). Its type specimen is AMNH-DR-14-1481, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Dominican amber (AMNH coll), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian terrestrial amber in the Dominican Republic.
