Taxonomy
Delopterum pantherinum was named by Rasnitsyn (2004). Its type specimen is NMMNH P-36605, a forewing (forewing lacking base & fore margin), and it is an impression. Its type locality is NMMNH L-3433; Carrizo Arroyo, which is in an Asselian pond mudstone in the Bursum Formation of New Mexico.
