Galateacrinidae was named by Knapp (1969). It is not extant. Its type is Galateacrinus.

It was assigned to Texacrinacea by Ubaghs et al. (1978) and Pabian and Rushlau (2002); and to Texacrinoidea by Webster and Webster (2012).
