Taxonomy
Metapoblatta microptera was named by Cockerell (1927). It is an impression. Its type locality is Railway tracks south of Franklin, which is in a Moscovian terrestrial siliciclastic in the Allegheny Formation of West Virginia. It is the type species of Metapoblatta.
