Fantus exiguus

Discussion

Original description: Test wide, short, moderate in size, lobated distally Cephalis broad, dome-shaped, slightly nodosed, sparsely perforated and covered with layer of microgranular silica. Thorax and subsequent chambers consisting of square to rectangular pore frames setting with circular to elliptical pores. Pore frames medium in size, slightly increasing in width distally but with final post-abdominal chamber decreasing in width.

Original remarks:Fantus exiguus n. sp. can be distinguished from other Fantus spp. in this report by having a short, wide, and lobated test.

Etimology: Exiguus-a-um (Latin, adj.) short.

Taxonomy
Fantus exiguus was named by Yeh (1987). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Suplee-Izee area, OR-589D, which is in a Toarcian marine mudstone/limestone in the Snowshoe Formation of Oregon.
