Taxonomy
Caeciliini was named by Kolbe (1880) [Spelling emended from Caeciliidae by ICZN rules to avoid homonymy with Caeciliidae Rafinesque, 1814]. It is extant. Its type is Caecilius.
It was reranked as the family Caeciliidae by Hong (2002) and Hong (2002); it was reranked as the family Caeciliusidae by Yoshizawa (2002), Lienhard and Smithers (2002), Engel and Perkovsky (2006) and Yoshizawa and Johnson (2014).
