Xenoptera riojaensis

Taxonomy
Xenoptera riojaensis was named by Pinto (1986). Its type specimen is PZ inv. 19890, an exoskeleton (poorly preserved body and 3 wings), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Malanzán, Cuesta de la Herradura, which is in a Bashkirian terrestrial horizon in the Malanzán Formation of Argentina. It is the type species of Xenoptera.
