Crubus firmus

Protozoa - Nassellaria - Crubidae

Discussion

Original description: Test elongate, conical, gradually tapering and pointed apically. Cephalis medium in size, conical to hemispherical, with small horn when well-preserved, imperforate, and covered with layer of microgranular silica. Thorax, abdomen, and first two post-abdominal chambers with outer layer of irregular polygonal pore frames. Remaining post-abdominal chambers with very thin costae between each row of pore frames.

Original remarks: Crubus firmus, n. sp., differs from C. chengi, n. sp , by having a more conical test with a less massive horn, and by having less massive irregular pore frames on the earlier chambers.

Etymology: Firmus-a-um (Latin, adj.) firm.
