Conchyliocarida was named by Secretan (1985). It is not extant.

It was considered an invalid subgroup of Thylacocephala by Laville et al. (2021).

It was assigned to Thylacocephala by Sepkoski (2002), Schram (2014) and Ehiro and Kato (2015).
