Taxonomy
Tesnusocaris was named by Brooks (1955) [Sepkoski's age data: C Serp-l Sepkoski's reference number: 653,964]. Its type is Tesnusocaris goldichi. It is the type genus of Tesnusocarididae.

It was assigned to Tesnusocarididae by Emerson and Schram (1991); and to Enantiopoda by Sepkoski (2002).
