Taxonomy
Siderastrea hillsboroensis was named by Vaughan (1919). It is not extant. Its type locality is USGS Loc. 4890 - Tampa brickyard [Alum Bluff Gp], which is in a Miocene shallow subtidal limestone in Florida.
