Taxonomy
Metopina goeleti was named by Grimaldi (1989). Its type specimen is AMNH C88720, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is New Jersey amber, Delaware River, Kinkora, which is in a Maastrichtian terrestrial amber in New Jersey.
