Archaeocaris
Taxonomy
Archaeocaris was named by Meek (1872) [Sepkoski's age data: C Tour-l C Serp-l Sepkoski's reference number: 2,1066]. It is not extant. Its type is Archaeocaris vermiformis. It is the type genus of Archaeocarididae.
It was assigned to Perimecturidae by Brooks (1969) and Glaessner (1969); to Palaeostomatopodea by Sepkoski (2002); and to Archaeocarididae by Schram (2010).
