Branchiolambrus was named by Rathbun (1908) [Sepkoski's age data: T Mi]. It is not extant. Its type is Branchiolambrus altus.

It was assigned to Decapoda by Sepkoski (2002); and to Parthenopidae by Schweitzer et al. (2010).
