Carpopenaeus was named by Glaessner (1946) [Sepkoski's age data: K Ceno]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Carpopenaeidae.
It was assigned to Decapoda by Sepkoski (2002); and to Carpopenaeidae by Garassino (1994) and Schweitzer et al. (2010).
