Taxonomy
Clytiopsis was named by Bill (1914) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Olen-u]. It is not extant. Its type is Clytiopsis argentoratensis. It is the type genus of Clytiopsinae, Clytiopsidae.

It was assigned to Erymidae by Schweitzer et al. (2010); to Clytiopsinae by Klompmaker and Fraaije (2011); and to Clytiopsidae by Karasawa et al. (2012).
