Cyamocarcinus was named by Bittner (1883) [Sepkoski's age data: T Eo-u]. It is not extant. Its type is Cyamocarcinus angustifrons.
It was assigned to Decapoda by Sepkoski (2002); to Dynomenidae by Muller and Collins (1991), Schweitzer et al. (2003), Schweitzer et al. (2010), Tessier et al. (2011) and Beschin et al. (2015); and to Dromiacea by Schweitzer et al. (2012) and Beschin et al. (2016).
