Cycleryon was named by Glaessner (1965) [Sepkoski's age data: J l J Tith-l Sepkoski's reference number: 75]. It is not extant. Its type is Cycleryon propinquus.

It was assigned to Eryonidae by Schweitzer et al. (2010).
