Taxonomy
Glyptodynomene was named by Van Straelen (1944) [Sepkoski's age data: K Ceno K Maes-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1225]. It is not extant. Its type is Glyptodynomene alsasuensis.

It was assigned to Decapoda by Sepkoski (2002); to Dynomenidae by Glaessner (1969) and Schweitzer et al. (2003); to Paranecrocarcininae by Fraaije et al. (2008); to Necrocarcinidae by Schweitzer et al. (2010) and Karasawa et al. (2014); and to Dromiacea by Schweitzer et al. (2016).
