Taxonomy
Ophthalmoplax minimus was named by Ossó-Morales et al. (2010). Its type specimen is MSGB74546, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Oued Al Loh, near Merija Tahtania, which is in a Campanian carbonate marl in the Calcaires à slumps de Taghit Formation of Morocco.
