Taxonomy
Protepiptera kaweckii was named by Usinger (1939) [Neotype designated]. Its type specimen is PIN 964/702, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber, Yantarnyi village (PIN collection 964), which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in the Russian Federation. It is the type species of Protepiptera.
