Taxonomy
Necronectes summus was named by Collins and Donovan (1995). Its type specimen is BMNH IC 2 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Locality 1, Hughes Point, which is in a Chattian carbonate packstone in the Antigua Formation of Antigua and Barbuda.
