Harpactocarcinus americanus
Taxonomy
Harpactocarcinus americanus was named by Rathbun (1928). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Brazos Valley, Little Brazos Creek, which is in a Bartonian marine horizon in the Cook Mountain Formation of Texas. It is the type species of Neozanthopsis.
It was recombined as Neozanthopsis americanus by Schweitzer (2003), Schweitzer et al. (2010), Luque et al. (2017) and Schweitzer et al. (2018).
