Pilumnus telegdii was named by Müller (1974). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Budapest-Budatétény, area G, which is in a Badenian marine horizon in Hungary.
It was recombined as Actumnus telegdii by Schweitzer et al. (2010) and Schweitzer et al. (2022).
