Taxonomy
Micromithrax was named by Noetling (1881) [Sepkoski's age data: T Eo T Mi]. It is not extant. Its type is Micromithrax holsatica.

It was assigned to Brachyura by Noetling (1881); to Decapoda by Sepkoski (2002); to Majidae by Feldmann and Wilson (1988), Feldmann and Keys (1992) and Feldmann et al. (2003); and to Corystidae by van Bakel et al. (2009), Schweitzer et al. (2010) and Schweitzer and Feldmann (2019).
