Taxonomy
Mioplax was named by Bittner (1884) [Sepkoski's age data: T Mi]. It is not extant. Its type is Mioplax socialis.

It was assigned to Decapoda by Sepkoski (2002); to Chasmocarcinidae by Karasawa and Schweitzer (2006); and to Chasmocarcininae by Karasawa and Kato (2003), Schweitzer et al. (2010) and Schweitzer et al. (2022).
