Taxonomy
Thelecarcinus guembeli was named by Böhm (1891). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gerhardtsreiter Graben, which is in a Maastrichtian carbonate marl in the Gerhardsreit Formation of Germany. It is the type species of Thelecarcinus.
