It was assigned to Raninidae by Rathbun (1935) and Glaessner (1980); to Ranininae by Collins and Wienberg Rasmussen (1992); to Decapoda by Sepkoski (2002); to Palaeocorystinae by Tucker (1998), Collins (2002) and Schweitzer et al. (2010); and to Palaeocorystidae by Karasawa et al. (2014) and Schweitzer et al. (2018).
