Taxonomy
Orthotichia japonica was named by Hayasaka (1932). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kadosawa Limestone quarries, Nabeyama, Tochigi Prefecture (Hayasaka coll), which is in a Roadian carbonate limestone in the Nabeyama Formation of Japan.
