Taxonomy
Metalegoceras rotundatum was named by Ruzhentsev (1956). Its type specimen is PIN 317/3241 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Aktasty River, locality 10, Aktyubinsk Region, which is in an Artinskian carbonate limestone in the Aktasty Formation of Kazakhstan.
